We love the distinction between busyness and alignment. Planning from urgency looks productive on paper, but it usually creates a week that feels tight, reactive, and weirdly heavy.
The “season” framing is also a helpful reset. It gives people permission to choose fewer goals on purpose, and to build plans around real capacity instead of imagined capacity.
One small thing we have been testing that fits your three points is a “margin-first” plan: block rest and recovery first, then pick the few outputs that still fit. If it does not fit, it is a no for this season.
What is one thing you would tell someone to cut immediately when they notice they are planning from urgency again?
Thank you for sharing PB. I have been guilty of piling too many activities on my plate at once, expecting unrealistic results and then getting overwhelmed even from the beginning because I didn’t know how to structure things and break down vision into effective tasks. From your YouTube video to this writeup I have seen areas for correction. Thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing! Clarity for me now is finishing what I started years ago. No new goals, it is systematically and contentedly going through what God has intended for years and seeing them fulfilled.
This was really helpful for me. I spent a lot of time in this new year thinking about the goals I had and decided to focus on lifestyle changes in alignment with my values that will give me the results I want.
I haven’t been as excited about my goals as I am now
Bisola, this landed at the right time.

Love this!!
Planning for clarity for me means:
- Read 5 pages of my selected book daily
- Speak to Jesus for 5 mins at selected hours during the day.
- Connect with my kids for minimum 10 mins daily.
This is very helpful
“Productivity that costs you peace is too expensive.” That line should be printed on every planner 😅
Thank you PB 🙏🏾
You’re welcome.

I am glad you found it helpful.
To me, planning for clarity means doing things small and building from there.
- Reading a book for just 15 minutes a day
- Praying 30 minutes every day (this one I know is realistic)
- Reading a post on Substack just before I start work
- Sending out my Substack newsletter once a week
Love it!
Planning with clarity for me is to find balance between my 9-5 and other activities I wish to engage in
That’s good!
You’re welcome.
